Amazon.com Product Description Equipped with Sony's celebrated Trinitron flat picture tube, the KV-32V42 32-inch TV delivers top-quality video resolution in an attractive housing. The Trinitron tube reduces glare and distortion from nearby light sources, ensuring a wider viewing angle and a crisper image. As with many of Sony's models, the TV also offers a three-line digital comb filter, which removes the blurred edges between colors and reduces dot crawl, and dual-tuner picture-in-picture (PIP), which lets viewers watch two of their favorite programs on the same screen (a particular favorite for sports fans). Users can also freeze one of the programs in the smaller PIP window. The TV comes loaded with a number of convenient user extras, such as multiple video modes (for standard, movies, and sports programming); SpeedSurf rapid channel scanning for viewers with an itchy remote finger; adjustable brightness, color, hue, and sharpness sliders; a five-channel favorites feature for previewing favorite stations without leaving the current channel; closed captioning; and a parental control feature. The TV's Extended Data Service gives viewers extra programming information, such as channel call letters and program lengths and times when provided by the cable or satellite service. And finally, the KV-32V42 includes a two-event timer that activates for upcoming events. In addition to two built-in 5-watt speakers, the TV's audio package includes a volume level equalizer, SRS 3D audio effect for dynamic three-dimensional sound, simulated surround sound, and MTS stereo decoding with DBX noise reduction. The KV-32V42 also offers bass, treble, and balance sliders, the ability to listen to an alternate audio broadcast of a select program (when available), and an audio output for connecting to a separate stereo system. Additional inputs and outputs include three composite video inputs, an S-video input, an RF input, and audio and monitor outputs. One of the composite inputs is located at the TV's front panel, letting viewers easily connect a game console or camcorder without pulling the TV away from the wall. The one of the best tvs known to man! December 9, 2000 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have to say, this is indeed the best tv I've ever owned (or watched for that matter.) The primary feature that seperates it from all the other tvs out there is that it has a perfectly FLAT screen. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a plasma tv. However, is is FLAT. The speakers on the bottom don't give you a great sound, but don't give you a bad sound either. It isn't worth to spend ($) upgrading to the side speakers, especially if your going to have a surround-sound system. Plenty if AV imports mean you can plug as many things in as you want, plus a front AV jack for quick-swapping things. It also has a rear S-video import. Trust me, if you like to watch tv with a good picture then get this one. I'll give you a week before your other tv goes in the trash:)
